Roger McGuinn
Roger McGuinn co-founded The Byrds with Gene Clark and David Crosby in 1964, shaping the sound of an entire generation with their electrified folk rock and iconic 12-string guitar work. Before forming the Byrds, McGuinn toured and performed folk music with the Limeliters, Chad Mitchell Trio, and Bobby Darin.
A Chicago native, McGuinn studied at the Old Town School of Folk Music and was strongly influenced as a teenager by Bob Gibson. The Byrds' influential sound — bridging Bob Dylan's folk poetry with British Invasion energy — changed American music forever.
Roger McGuinn has continued performing and recording throughout his career, bringing a lifetime of musical storytelling to every stage.
