Founded by Thomas Lauderdale in 1994, the “little orchestra” draws inspiration from music around the globe, blending classical, jazz, and vintage pop. Originally created to bring more beauty and inclusivity to political fundraisers supporting causes like civil rights, education, public broadcasting, and the environment, Pink Martini offers what Lauderdale calls “a rollicking around-the-world musical adventure.” If the United Nations had a house band in 1962, they just might have sounded like this.
